Event Description: On February 10th, Black House Beignet, a NOLA-inspired local coffee house, will host a Black History month celebration of the amazing life and legacy of Rose Nicaud. Born enslaved, Rose was one of the first women and woman of color vendors in the city of New Orleans who sold French coffee, commonly known as café au lait, to patrons along the river near the St. Louis Cathedral. Light NOLA-inspired fare will be served along with a toast and official unveiling of a 1-of-1 print of Rose Nicaud by NOLA-based Performance Artivist José Torres-Tama.
