We offer freedom conversation tours twice a day Tuesday-Sunday at 11:30 am and 2 pm. Summer Hours start first Tuesday of May.

The Underground Railroad
Between the American Revolution in 1776 and the end of the Civil War in 1865, thousands of freedom seekers escaped slavery in the United States. Many relied on a network of people and places known as the Underground Railroad. Neither a railroad nor underground, this network helped freedom seekers reach safe haven in Canada, where slavery was abolished and no person could be claimed as property.
Visit the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center to learn more about this story of self-liberation and what it was like for those on the last stop of the Underground Railroad.

Shuttle
The Heritage Center is a stop on the Free Discover Niagara Shuttle that runs May – October.
Public Transportation
Public transportation is available through Niagara- Frontier Trainset Authority on the corner of Main and Depot Avenue West. Please see the local schedule.
Parking
Limited free parking, shared with the Amtrak Station, is available at our location. Please email to arrange bus parking.
The Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center is a proud participant in a variety of reciprocal programs that seek to provide opportunities of access to our museum. Please see our associated programs below:
Through Museums for All, visitors presenting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program(SNAP)/Electronic Benefit Transfer(EBT) cards receive reduced admission to the Heritage Center. For Adults, admission will be $3 per person. For Youth, admission will be FREE.
The Arts Access program, established by Arts Services Inc. in 2013, was created to remove the barriers that prohibit many Western New Yorkers from experiencing the arts, including cost, transportation, language, and effort. The Arts Access Pass includes four general admission tickets to the Heritage Center per each passholder.

Most visitors take about an hour in our museum. There are many interactive pieces that visitors love to take their time with.

Our Freedom Conversation Tours are held twice a day at 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM during our open days. This tour is included as a part of your general admission. Our staff is more than willing to answer any questions you may have if you are unable to hop on a tour!
